Stamp Collecting: UK Edition

Posted: October 27, 2011 in Travel

I recently took a trip over the to UK. I used to live there for a short time, haven’t really been there for more than a layover since living there (20 years ago).

I arrived in London and started my long love affair with the train systems. The famous Underground coupled with all thew other lines make it real easy to get around the majority of London.

The main purpose of my visit was to watch the Bears game, yea, this is the most expensive Bears game I have ever been to.

Despite being in London we still ran into quite a bit of American Footbal fans.

It was great to hear stories of how people started rooting for certain teams, and just meeting people from all over that truly knew the sport, not just going to be part of the “in-crowd”

The game only took up one of my days, but we were able to do quite a bit of site seeing out in London.

London is very old city, the architecture there is am amazing sight to see. If you ever have the oppurtunity head out to London, buy a 2 day pass for the Hop-On Hop-Off double decker bus tours and check out as much as you can. The busses take you around 40 stops throughout the city while explaining some of the history in London. At each stop you are able to get off and explore further. Great way of learning the are and just getting around.

Some pictures of some of the places I got to see.

Tower Bridge

Big Steve and the Westminster Abbey

Tower of London

Harrod’s Shopping Mall

Check out my facebook page for more of the pictures, I will have tons of pictures when I get around to uploading them.
